Earth, Wind & Fire made a movie. That's not me saying that this album is cinematic, I'm saying that they actually made a movie. Harvey Keitel plays this producer extraordinaire who's forced by the label to work with a bland, Osmond-like family band instead of the much more interesting group he was working with prior (that would be EWF).

History 1969–1970: Beginnings In 1969, Maurice White, a former session drummer for Chess Records and former member of the Ramsey Lewis Trio, joined two friends in Chicago, Wade Flemons and Don Whitehead, as a songwriting team. They wrote songs and commercials in the Chicago area. The three friends got a recording contract with Capitol Records.
